Patna (Press Release) Kalem Ahmed Aajiz was a man of immense depth and profound personality. A high-caliber poet of new style and language, an excellent prose writer, and a successful teacher, his life was also marked by a strong religious, missionary, and preaching aspect. A living embodiment of humanity, nobility, and refinement, he was a comfort to the nation, a precious gem of Dabistan Azimabad, and the crown of the realm of poetry. His heart was illuminated by the light of faith and the warmth of passion.

His magical charm and the miracle of his nocturnal lament were such that even in the vast ocean of sorrows, his face never showed a wrinkle. He never became despondent, always remaining cheerful and smiling. His heart was wounded, but his forehead never showed a crease. These were the thoughts and impressions of prominent Urdu intellectuals who presented their views at a commemorative ceremony and poetry session organized by the Urdu Directorate, Cabinet Secretariat, Government of Bihar, at the auditorium, Faneeshwar Nath Renu Hindi Bhavan, near Akashvani, Chhajju Bagh, Patna.

The program began with the lighting of candles. Professor Arzi Karim, former head of the Urdu department at the University of Delhi, presided over the ceremony. In his presidential address, Professor Karim said that poets like Kalem Aajiz are born once in a while. His poetry is universal. He stated that there is no need to compare Mir and Kalem Aajiz, as both had their unique style, approach, and language. Mir was a scattered poet, while Kalem Aajiz was a poet of confrontation. Kalem Aajiz received fame, popularity, and love, which was not bestowed upon any other poet.

He explained the similarities between Mir and Kalem Aajiz through their poetry and said that both have distinct status and positions. He stated that poetry is not an expression of nature but an expression of form. He said that Kalem Aajiz was not only a poet but also an excellent prose writer, with an interest in drama and theater.
