Patna, 15 February (ABN). Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Sunday inspected the under-construction Kadjee Nala (Rajeev Nagar Nala) and Anandpur Nala on Ashiana-Digha Road near Rajeev Nagar in Patna. He directed officials to expedite construction and ensure quality.
During the inspection, the Chief Minister said that under this project, the nalas are being concretized and roads are being built on them. He said that upon completion of these projects, there will be a significant reduction in the problem of waterlogging in the city. Additionally, the construction of a two-lane road over the nalas will provide better and smoother transportation to the public. This will make the city cleaner and more organized.
The Chief Minister said that on 21 February 2025, during his "Pragati Yatra", he had announced several development projects in Patna district. At that time, he had inspected Anandpur Nala and Kadjee Nala, where local residents had expressed concerns about waterlogging and traffic congestion. Following this, he had directed that the nalas be concretized and roads be built on them, work on which is progressing rapidly.
Notably, the Rajeev Nagar Nala is a crucial part of Patna city's drainage system. Its total length is 4.26 kilometers, starting from the Digha-Ashiana Road and ending at the Kadjee Drainage Pumping Station. Work on concretizing and building a road on this nala is underway.
Similarly, the Anandpur Drain is also extremely important for the city's drainage system. Its length is approximately 4 kilometers, starting from Baba Chowk, passing through Atal Path and near AN College, and ending at the Rajapur Pul Drainage Pumping Station. Work on concretizing and building a road on this nala is also in progress.
The Chief Minister directed officials to complete the work within the stipulated timeframe, so that the people of Patna can get relief from drainage issues and avail better transportation facilities as soon as possible.
