Nitish Kumar wrote on 'X' that "since the beginning of my parliamentary life, I had a desire to be a member of both houses of the Bihar Legislative Assembly as well as both houses of Parliament." Amidst the news of going to the Rajya Sabha, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's first reaction has come to the fore. On Thursday (05 March), the Chief Minister shared a post on the social media platform 'X' in this regard. He said that for more than two decades, the trust and support you have maintained in me, on the basis of that, we have served Bihar and all of you with complete honesty. The power of your trust and support was the reason why Bihar is moving towards new milestones of development and dignity today. I have thanked you for this many times before. In the post, Nitish Kumar further wrote that "since the beginning of my parliamentary life, I had a desire to be a member of both houses of the Bihar Legislative Assembly as well as both houses of Parliament. In this sequence, this time I want to become a member of the Rajya Sabha in the upcoming elections." Along with this, he wrote that "I want to assure you with complete honesty that my relationship with you will continue in the future and my determination to build a developed Bihar with you will remain intact. Whatever new government is formed, it will have my full cooperation and guidance." On the other hand, after Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar expressed his desire to become a member of the Rajya Sabha, a JD(U) worker protesting outside his residence said that "it is unfortunate. The Nitish Kumar who has been serving the people of Bihar from the student movement to date... the people of Bihar consider him their family. There can be no other Chief Minister besides Nitish Kumar. We want Nitish Kumar to remain the Chief Minister."
