Patna (ABN) The gang-rape of a student and her suspected death at the Shambhu Girls Hostel has sparked widespread outrage across the state against the NDA government and the Patna administration. Krishna Allavaru, in-charge of the Bihar Congress, said during a protest at the Income Tax Golamber that the condition of women and girls has deteriorated in the NDA government. There is an atmosphere of fear regarding the safety of girls. The Congress is serious about women's safety in the state and is continuously protesting on the roads from Jehanabad to Patna to ensure justice for the girl. Rajesh Ram, president of the state Congress, said that such a big incident occurred in the capital Patna, and the police have not yet arrested the accused. He also demanded an explanation from the government for its failure to arrest the hostel operators, Agarwal couple, and their son in the Patna Shambhu Girls Hostel rape case. In this case, the hospital administration and doctors tried to destroy evidence and tamper with it, but the accused have not been arrested yet. Dr. Madan Mohan Jha questioned the government as to why the investigation is progressing slowly or if there is an attempt to suppress the case. He also asked if the government is trying to save the influential accused. If the accused are being given time to destroy evidence and manipulate the case, it reveals the true state of law and order in the state. In-charge Secretary Shahnawaz Alam said that if the investigation is really impartial, then why is there a delay in arresting the accused? Is the government under pressure, or is it trying to save the accused itself? It is the responsibility of the administration to conduct a fair and speedy investigation, arrest the accused soon, and preserve the evidence. In-charge Secretary Sushil Kumar Passey said that the state government should ensure that all accused, no matter how influential, are equal before the law. If this is not done, the public's trust in the NDA government regarding law and order and women's safety in Bihar will be shaken. After the protest, an effigy of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was burned.
