RSS decides to increase focus on youth and women

Amid opposition movements and aggressive activities by Gen Z (the younger generation) in the country, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has emphasized a strategy to expand its reach among youth and women. Under this, plans were discussed to expand activities to connect youth and women with the organization, increase contact in schools and colleges, and reach every household. To connect the new generation with nationalist ideology, it has been decided to initiate activities aimed at associating children from the fifth and sixth grades with the shakhas.

These matters were discussed from Friday morning until late night at Saraswati Shishu Mandir located in Koni, Bilaspur district of Chhattisgarh, in the presence of Sarsanghchalak Dr. Mohan Bhagwat, alongside regional and provincial officials as well as teams from various sectors. Bhagwat, who arrived in Bilaspur on a two-day visit in connection with the Vijayadashami festival, interacted with officials from all affiliate organizations in addition to the provincial and departmental teams. During this, the progress of tasks set under the Sangh's centenary year was reviewed.

In the two-day meetings, emphasis was laid on increasing youth- and women-centric activities to counter Gen Z movements and the opposition's narrative. Along with this, the expansion and continuation of shakhas in Chhattisgarh and starting new shakhas were also discussed.

On Friday, meetings were held in two sessions before lunch. After this, in the concluding session, the RSS chief, while repeating the message given in his intellectual address, stressed the continuous continuation of the works initiated under the centenary year. Along with expanding reach to every village in rural areas, strengthening contact in settlements within urban areas was also spoken about. Concern was also expressed during the meetings over the issue of religious conversion in Chhattisgarh. Along with the RSS, other organizations including Vishva Hindu Parishad and Dharma Jagran are also working on this issue. It was stated by these organizations that workers operating against alleged forced religious conversion do not receive the required support from the administration and sometimes even face police action. They stated that the legal position of those converting people remains stronger.

On this issue, Dr. Mohan Bhagwat gave a message that work against those who convert people through allurements or force must continue, and there is no need to be afraid of it.

The issue of the NEET paper leak and the subsequent movement was also raised in the meeting. On this, Bhagwat gave a clear message that such mistakes should not be given an opportunity to occur.

During the discussion, the view also emerged that movements of the nature currently taking place in other countries of the world will not have the same impact in India. In favor of this, the argument was given that the motives of the people involved in the movements are gradually coming to light, and people have begun to understand the hidden motives behind movements like NEET and SIR.

During the two-day discussions, regional and provincial pracharaks gathered information on various matters from swayambsevaks who had arrived from Chhattisgarh province. In this, issues related to basic amenities, including dilapidated roads, were also discussed. During this, a message was conveyed that there should be no negligence in providing basic amenities to the people.

It also emerged in the meeting that if there is difficulty in constructing new roads due to global circumstances, then work should be managed through the maintenance and repair of existing roads to provide relief to the people.

The number of female voters in Chhattisgarh is stated to be more than 1 crore, while the number of young voters is said to be over 50 lakh. In such a scenario, it is being suggested that the Sangh's activities focused on youth and women are likely to politically benefit the BJP.

Schemes like Mahtari Vandan have also been declared beneficial for the BJP in elections held in states other than Chhattisgarh. On the other hand, amid questions raised regarding the low number and limited representation of women in the RSS, the step to expand women-centric activities is also being seen as a strategy to increase the organization's reach and respond to these allegations.

These discussions are being considered important towards organizational expansion, connecting with the new generation, women's participation, and increasing activities on social issues during the Sangh's centenary year.
