Pattana, (ABN) – Rashtra Janata Dal (RJD) spokesperson Aijaz Ahmad condemned the alleged gang‑rape incident that occurred while a couple was watching a fair in Eastern Champan, calling it a disgrace to humanity. He accused the government and administration of losing their fear in Bihar, which has emboldened criminals.
Mr. Ahmad said the incident involving the couple who had gone to watch a fair in Eastern Champan was extremely shameful and alarming. He alleged that the husband was tied up and the wife was gang‑raped in front of him. Such incidents raise serious questions about law and order in the state.
The RJD spokesperson said that incidents against women and girls are continuously emerging in Bihar, but instead of taking effective action, the government tries to divert the matter. He accused those in power of diverting attention from current incidents by referring to the previous government and its tenure, thereby protecting criminals. This type of politics gives criminals a safe haven.
Mr. Ahmad referred to the Chief Minister’s alleged promise that action would be taken within 24 hours when such incidents occur. He questioned why, after the Chief Minister pledged immediate action, effective steps are still not being taken. He accused the lack of action of emboldening criminals and leading to more such heinous incidents.
The RJD spokesperson said ensuring women’s safety is the government’s responsibility. Immediate action, arrest of offenders, and delivering justice to victims should be priorities. He demanded that the state government restore peace and order and ensure stringent action against those who commit crimes against women.
