Rural Development Minister Sharan Kumar reviews departmental schemes in Buxar

Rural Development Minister Sharan Kumar reviewed departmental schemes at the Circuit House in Buxar headquarters. While reviewing housing schemes, he issued strict directives to provide land to eligible beneficiaries of the landless housing scheme at the earliest and to disburse MGNREGA wages within one week.

During the meeting, Minister Kumar directed to expedite the completion of construction work under the Chief Minister’s Housing Scheme, include beneficiaries excluded from the survey list in the selection list, accelerate the construction of Anganwadi center buildings and rural haat buildings under the VB-G Ram Ji Scheme, promote the tree plantation campaign, and ensure payments to those protecting forests.

While reviewing the Lohiya Suchh Bihar campaign, he emphasized the need to immediately reactivate all inactive community composting pits in Buxar to ensure their utility, improve the marketing of products made by SHGs, and provide local and accessible markets for their sale. He also stressed that all pending cases and complaints related to social audits must be resolved within one month.

Meanwhile, departmental officers informed Minister Kumar that 48,973 women have already been trained as Likhpatti Didis against a target of 41,552 in the district. Under the Prime Minister’s Housing Scheme, 15,646 houses were approved against a target of 16,147 for 2024-25 and 2025-26. Of these, 9,458 houses have been completed. Work on Anganwadi center buildings has started at 36 locations against a target of 126, of which 28 have been completed. Construction work is ongoing for the remaining 8 Anganwadi center buildings.

Departmental officers stated that three sites were identified for the construction of a rural haat in Buxar, of which one was found suitable for construction. Work on the haat at the selected site is ongoing. On the other hand, 2,94,400 saplings have been planted so far against a target of 3,26,400 for tree plantation in the district. MLAs from Rajpur and Dumraon assembly constituencies, Deputy Development Commissioner Mrs. Naharika Chhavi, Director (DRDA) Mr. Arun, Block Development Officers of all blocks, Program Officers, and others were present at the meeting.
