Patna administration issues stern warning: protests permitted only at designated locations; no tolerance for traffic or public inconvenience
Patna, October 12: The district administration has issued strict directives regarding sit-in protests and demonstrations in Patna. The District Magistrate and the Senior Superintendent of Police have clarified that the designated sit-in area at Gardni Bagh must be used exclusively for protests and demonstrations in support of any demands. Legal action in accordance with the law will be taken against those who protest at any other location or violate administrative directives.
According to the administration, these directives were issued after reviewing instances where various organizations and individuals conducted protests without prior notice or designated permission. Officials stated that maintaining traffic flow, public convenience, and law and order in the city are among the administration's priorities.
The administration warned that demonstrations at locations other than the designated area disrupt the traffic system, causing hindrances to the functioning of key institutions, including schools, colleges, hospitals, and courts. Additionally, business activities are affected, and ordinary citizens face inconvenience.
Officials specifically expressed concern over the difficulties caused to the movement of the elderly, patients, schoolchildren, and emergency service vehicles, including ambulances. According to the administration, such obstructions can lead to delays in essential services.
The District Magistrate and the Senior Superintendent of Police have appealed to all organizations and concerned individuals to use the designated sit-in area at Gardni Bagh to present their demands peacefully and democratically, and to cooperate with the administration in maintaining traffic, public peace, and citizen convenience.
The administration stated unequivocally that legal action will be taken in accordance with the law against those who protest at locations other than the designated area or violate the issued directives.
