A horrific incident involving a fire in a gas cylinder has emerged in Gopalganj, Bihar. The accident occurred in the assembly constituency of Bekantpur, represented by Education Minister Mithilesh Tiwari. It is reported that a fire broke out around 6 PM last night due to a gas leak while attaching the cylinder regulator, resulting in 17 individuals suffering severe burns. All the injured have been admitted to the Civil Hospital for treatment.

The condition of six of the injured is reported to be critical, and they have been referred to another hospital for better treatment. Two people have died so far in the accident. One of the deceased is a child who died while being transported to the PMCH. Shortly after, another injured person succumbed to their injuries. The incident took place in Safiabad village, under the Bekantpur police station jurisdiction. Upon receiving the news of the accident, District Magistrate Samir Sourabh reached the Civil Hospital to assess the situation.

The District Magistrate supervised the treatment arrangements for the injured and directed doctors to expedite treatment and provide better medical facilities. He met with the injured, inquired about their condition, and took information on the ongoing treatment. The Education Minister stated that all affected individuals would be transferred to the ‘Burn Ward’ at the PMCH the next day for better treatment.
