'Criminals have complete confidence that the government cannot harm them,' Tejashwi Yadav lambasts NDA government in the House

Awaz E Bihar•5 February 2026 at 07:21 pm•0 views•3 min read

Patna: (ABN) Opposition leader Tejashwi Yadav launched a scathing attack on the NDA government in the assembly on Thursday. He said that you have converted democracy into a system of fear. The sleep of this government is not disturbed even by the cries of daughters. Looking at the condition of Bihar, it seems that the criminals have become completely convinced that this government cannot harm them.

The fear has vanished from the hearts of Bihar's criminals and the government has lost its shame. Tejashwi Yadav told the Speaker in the House that his toenail has been torn, so he wants to speak sitting down. The Assembly Speaker granted permission to sit. After that, Tejashwi Yadav mentioned the Patna Net incident, as well as other districts, saying that a woman was raped and murdered in Madhepura, a 4-year-old girl was raped and murdered in Khagaria, and a woman and three children were kidnapped and killed in Muzaffarpur. He also mentioned several other crimes.

Tejashwi Yadav said in the assembly that the police station is silent, the administration is unconscious, and the government is completely numb. The public has regret and anger towards this government. The Bihar government has become a cold storage, which keeps cooling down every issue. RJD leader asked, "When Bihar is developing so much, tell us what Bihar is number one in?" Compared to other states, Bihar is the poorest, has the most unemployment, is behind in education and health, and is ahead in corruption, with criminals having the upper hand. Per capita income is the lowest, farmers feel cheated, and the poor who voted for them are being destroyed.

The Bihar Assembly budget session heated up with intense discussions when opposition leader Tejashwi Yadav launched a severe attack on the ruling NDA government. Tejashwi Yadav made serious allegations against the government regarding election expenses and democratic values. He claimed that the NDA used excessive financial power to stop the Grand Alliance in the last elections.

The opposition leader began his speech in the legislative assembly in a poetic style and severely criticized the government. He said that instead of winning the trust of the people in the Bihar assembly elections, the NDA relied on the power of money. He alleged that the ruling NDA spent around 40,000 crores to defeat them in the Bihar elections. An investigation should be conducted to find out whose money it was and where it came from. Tejashwi Yadav jokingly said that even after spending such a large amount, the NDA had to struggle among the people.

Along with allegations of corruption, Tejashwi Yadav also attacked the state's law and order and democratic structure. He said that democracy is not safe in Bihar today. He said that the NDA government has turned democracy into a reign of fear. Today, the voice of the opposition is being suppressed, and the government is being run by intimidating the common people. Pointing to the ruling party, Tejashwi Yadav said that instead of doing politics of issues, they are doing politics of intimidation, which is harmful to the future of Bihar.

After Tejashwi Yadav's statement, the ruling party's MLAs strongly objected. NDA leaders termed Tejashwi's claim of 40,000 crores as baseless and a statement given out of frustration. Meanwhile, a long commotion was seen in the House. As soon as Tejashwi Yadav finished speaking, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sinha stood up and repeated his claim of jungle raj, calling Lalu Yadav a chara chor.
