Awaz E Bihar•10 February 2026 at 07:22 pm•4 views•5 min read

Patna, February 10 (ABN) The opposition staged a walkout from the House on Tuesday, before noon, over the deteriorating law and order situation in the state and the safety of daughters. As soon as the House proceedings began today, during the question hour, opposition members started creating a ruckus with placards bearing messages and raised slogans of "Nitish Kumar, answer us". Speaker Prem Kumar said that bringing placards with messages into the House is not allowed. He asked the members to remain calm and raise their points in zero hour, in accordance with the dignity of the House.

The appeal of Speaker Mr. Kumar had no effect on the opposition members, and they continued with their sloganeering, moving towards the center of the House. Meanwhile, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Vijay Choudhary said that the opposition is seeking an answer from the Chief Minister. He said that Nitish Kumar, along with his entire ministerial team, is present to answer the questions of the members, provided the questions are asked in accordance with the rules and etiquette of the House.

Despite this, the ruckus continued, following which Prem Kumar directed the marshals to remove the posters to maintain order. After that, all opposition members first sat down on their seats, but then got up again and walked out of the House. The opposition staged a walkout from the House in the name of the deteriorating law and order situation in the state and the safety of daughters.

Kumar had no effect on the opposition members, and they continued with their sloganeering, moving towards the center of the House, near the table, and continued sloganeering. As the proceedings began, the opposition MLA started sloganeering against the government. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, both Deputy Chief Ministers, and several ministers were present in the House.

The opposition has been demanding answers from the government over the alleged rape incidents of NEET students in Darbhanga and Patna. Amidst the ruckus, Assembly Speaker Prem Kumar called in marshals to remove the posters and appealed for order in the House. Despite this, the opposition MLA remained in the well and later walked out.

Congress members staged a strong protest in the Assembly. They entered the Assembly premises with a statue adorned with bangles and criticized the government over the deteriorating law and order situation in the state. The protesting Congress MLA alleged that they have been constantly informing the government about the situation and raising questions within the Assembly, but the government is not being affected.

They said that despite several serious incidents like the murder of a NEET student in Bihar, the government is only trying to cover it up. Congress members claimed that the state government is completely failing to control crime. They warned that their protest would continue until the victims get justice. As a symbol of their protest, they presented bangles to the government.

After the walkout of the members, Minister Choudhary again clarified the government's stance before the Speaker and said that the government is ready to answer the opposition's questions on serious issues. He said that the opposition members are unnecessarily confused. He said that on the Speaker's instruction, all the members sat down on their seats once, and then suddenly got up and walked out of the House, which shows that they are confused.

Speaking on behalf of the Lok Janshakti Party, Rama Vilas, Raju Tiwari said, "Today is a historic moment. Our colleague, Nityanand, has become the national president of the largest party in the new world. From LJP, Rama Vilas, and the people of Bihar, we congratulate him. Through him, the name of Bihar has been strengthened. We have also trusted PM and Home Minister Modi."

While addressing the welcome of BJP National President Nityanand, Deputy CM Sushant Choudhary said, "Today is a historic day for Bihar. This is the first time that Nityanand has come to the Assembly House after becoming the national president. This is the first time in Indian history that a member of this House has become the national president of such a large party while being a member of Parliament. This is an important achievement, which is a major responsibility for our Prime Minister. We will try to strengthen the organization, the first minister to invest Rs 17,000 crore in Bihar, the people of Bihar have given us more than 200 seats to form the NDA government.
