Patna: (ABN) Minister of Industry Dr. Dilip Kumar Jaiswal is reviewing the handloom sector. Emphasis is placed on rapid construction of Khadi malls in other districts, modernization of Bihar Emporium, and multi-national tie-ups for crafts.

Minister of Industry Dr. Dilip Kumar Jaiswal held a comprehensive review meeting with departmental officers regarding the progress of handloom and silk industries, Khadi Gramodyog industries, and the Uppendra Maharthi Craft Research Institute at the department's auditorium. The meeting discussed the implementation of schemes, financial and physical achievements, human resource situation, and future action plans in detail.

The meeting was attended by the department's Secretary Mr. Kandan Kumar, MSMED Director Mr. Aman Sameer, Handloom and Silk Director Mr. Vidyasagar Singh, Industries Director Mr. Mukul Kumar Gupta, and other officers and staff of the department.

During the review, the Minister directed that the process of collecting applications for vacant positions in the department be started immediately to remove administrative hurdles in the effective implementation of schemes. He emphasized the need to ensure that departmental work is purpose-driven.

The meeting also reviewed the progress of Khadi malls under construction in various districts of the state. The Minister directed that construction work be expedited so that the malls can become effective centers for the promotion of Khadi and rural industrial products.

There was also a special emphasis on modernizing and improving Bihar Emporium to provide a better branding and marketing platform for the state's products.

During the review meeting, the Minister of Industry directed the concerned officials to visit successful handloom, silk, and craft training centers operating in other states and, inspired by their best practices, training models, and innovations, prepare a solid action plan to implement them in Bihar.

He said that sharing inter-state experiences will improve the quality of training and connect the state's weavers and artisans with modern technology and market-based skills.

The Minister stressed the need to seriously explore possibilities with multi-national companies to promote crafts, thereby connecting the state's products to national and international markets.

The Minister said that our clear commitment is to take Bihar's traditional industries, crafts, and micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises to new heights through modern technology, better marketing, and strong policy support.

Under the visionary leadership of Hon'ble Chief Minister Mr. Nitish Kumar, Bihar is continuously becoming stronger in industrial development, employment generation, and self-reliance.

Finally, the Minister directed the officials to regularly review district-wise progress and expedite pending works.
