Patna (ABN) In the vast areas of North Bihar affected by floods, where public life has been affected every year due to the overflow of rivers like Kosi, Gandak, Kamla, and Bagmati, a major change is now being ensured through infrastructure. Under the Chief Minister's Rural Bridge Scheme being run by the Department of Rural Development, rural bridges are being constructed in these areas, through which these villages and settlements are being connected, which used to be completely isolated during the rainy days. For years, the only means of transportation in these villages, which used to be cut off from block headquarters and district centers during floods, were boats, which were not only insecure but also posed a threat to life in emergency situations. Now, the bridges being constructed under the Chief Minister's Rural Bridge Scheme will ensure safe and uninterrupted transportation in every season, changing this situation. It is noteworthy that under this scheme, priority is being given to the construction of bridges in the flood-affected districts of North Bihar. Under this scheme, the construction of the highest 76 bridges has been approved in the East Champaran district, so that the remote and flood-affected areas of the district can be connected to the mainstream. Similarly, to make transportation easy and uninterrupted in the Darbhanga district, which is most affected by floods, 53 bridges are being constructed. In the geographically highly sensitive Sitamarhi district, the construction of 43 bridges and in the Madhubani district, 42 bridges is underway at a rapid pace. In addition, 30 new bridges are being constructed in the Samastipur district with the aim of making rural traffic usable for 12 months. This improvement in connectivity will also have a significant positive impact on education and rural economy in North Bihar. Children who were deprived of schools due to floods will now be able to reach school safely throughout the year, ensuring continuity of education. Similarly, farmers, milk producers, and farmers associated with special agricultural products like Makhana and Litchi will have great convenience in transporting their produce to the market on time, which will bring stability to their income and create new employment opportunities.
