Patna, 3 February (ABN). Janata Dal United (JDU) stalwart Anant Singh, MLA from Mokama assembly constituency in Bihar, took oath as a member of the legislative assembly on the second day of the budget session on Tuesday. Afterwards, he approached the podium and greeted Assembly Speaker Prem Kumar by shaking hands. The Patna Civil Court had allowed him to take oath on Monday. Anant Singh was arrested in a murder case during the election and has been lodged in Beur jail since then. The Patna Civil Court's order has paved the way for his oath-taking. However, the court has clearly stated that he is allowed to come to the assembly only for oath-taking and is not permitted to participate in any other activities. After taking the oath, he returned to Beur jail in judicial custody.
