Salaries will be sent before Holi, minister assures RJD MLAs

Awaz E Bihar•24 February 2026 at 08:11 pm•0 views•4 min read

Patna, February 24 (ABN) Finance Minister Vijender Yadav said the opposition claims that the state government's treasury is empty. However, I want to tell them that salaries will be distributed before Holi, and that too by the end of February. He further said that no employee will face any kind of trouble.

Minister Vijender Yadav was reading the Bihar appropriation bill when opposition MLC Abdul Bari Siddiqui repeatedly interrupted him and stopped him from reading it properly. Abdul Bari Siddiqui announced that he is standing for justice. He taunted Finance Minister Vijender Yadav. An angry Finance Minister responded, this is the situation that your numbers have decreased so much. I curse you that you will not become an MLC again.

On the other hand, in the Bihar Legislative Assembly on Tuesday, the government announced that it will sympathetically consider the solution to the problems of the representatives of the guards and orderlies after talking to them, during a heated exchange between the ruling party and the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD).

As soon as the House proceedings began, RJD MLA Kumar Sarvjeet raised the issue of police lathi charge and alleged excesses on the guards and orderlies who were protesting in the state capital Patna in support of their demands, saying that the government is violating the democratic right of public protest.

Kumar Sarvjeet was supported by RJD MLA Bhai Birendra and other members, who started shouting from their seats and demanded a response from Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, while also raising slogans like "Laathi goli ki sarkar nahi chalegi" and trying to disrupt the proceedings. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Vijay Chaudhary said that if the opposition does not allow the government to function, how will the problems of the guards and orderlies be solved?

Intervening in the midst of the uproar, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, pointing towards the RJD, said that when you were in power, no work was done and today you are creating a ruckus. He said that he had parted ways with the RJD after being with them for two to three years. He said that due to this attitude, the number of RJD MLAs has decreased, while the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has been given 202 seats by the people. He said that during the RJD's rule, people were afraid to come out of their homes due to fear of criminals, but now there is peace in the state and Bihar is moving towards continuous development.

Meanwhile, RJD members, holding placards, reached the Well of the House, shouting slogans. At the same time, Minister Vijay Chaudhary said that the government is not bothered by the protest of the guards and orderlies. He said that if the government was against the protest, it would have imposed a ban on it. He said that under public discipline, there is a rule for protest as well, and no organization has the right to disrupt it, trouble the general public, or damage government property. He said that compared to any previous government, the Nitish government has done more work for the interests of the guards and orderlies.

He said that before shedding crocodile tears for the guards and orderlies, the opposition should look back at the pages of history. The Speaker of the Assembly, Prem Kumar, appealed to the agitating RJD members to return to their seats and allow the question hour to proceed. Despite Mr. Kumar's repeated requests, when the opposition members did not return to their seats, Finance Minister Vijender Yadav said that the government is ready to talk to the elected four or five representatives of the protesting guards and orderlies. He said that after the talks, a sympathetic consideration will be given to solve their problems.

After the government's announcement, the RJD members returned to their seats, and the question hour proceedings began.
