Patna: (ABN) The 75th Seerat-un-Nabi conference was organized by the Milad Committee of Patna Medical College in the New Lecture Theater Hall under the chairmanship of Bihar State Electricity Regulatory Commission Chairman, Ameen Subhani.
In his presidential address, Ameen Subhani said that studying the biography and character of the leaders of every religion, their beliefs, and messages is not just an academic exercise, but an effective means of promoting social harmony and human values. All religions of the world teach their followers the lessons of good morals, peace, love, justice, tolerance, and service to humanity. Although the methods of beliefs and worship may differ, there are many things in the teachings of religious leaders that have a common value.
There is a need to highlight these common values by reading and understanding the life, thoughts, and teachings of the leaders of different religions with an open heart and impartial thinking. This process not only removes misconceptions about each other, but also strengthens the spirit of mutual respect and tolerance.
Under this objective, such intellectual, educational, and conversational gatherings should be organized in society where the thoughts and messages of the leaders of different religions are heard and understood. Such sessions can help reduce hatred, prejudice, and narrow-mindedness in society and promote brotherhood, national unity, and an atmosphere of peace and tranquility.
When we try to understand each other's beliefs, we actually come closer to understanding humanity, and this is the true spirit of every religion.
On this occasion, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind's Amir Halqa, Maulana Rizwan Ahmed Islahi, said in his address that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) came as a prophet and messenger for all humans. His life is a model for Muslims as well as for common people. The solution to today's troubled world lies in his teachings.
In just 23 years of his life, he changed the individual, society, and state. He taught such a lesson of mercy and love that there is no parallel in the world. He said three times that a person who does not protect his neighbor from harm cannot be a believer, and this neighbor can be anyone, whether Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, or Christian.
Maulana Islahi said that the Prophet (peace be upon him) declared all creatures of the world as the family of Allah and stated that whoever is more beneficial for humanity will be more dear to Allah. His teachings of mercy and love are universal and global.
He cursed the person who tortures an animal for mere entertainment and declared those who tie a cat and those who give water to a dog as fortunate. He abolished discrimination between humans and said that all humans are the children of Adam, made from clay, and there is no superiority of a white person over a black person or an Arab over a non-Arab.
Maulana Islahi said that those who showed enmity towards him, expelled him from his homeland, and tried to take his life, were also forgiven by him. He prayed for those who stoned him during his journey to Taif. He established a system of justice and fairness where every person gets justice.
He said, "If Muhammad's daughter Fatima had stolen, I would have cut off her hand." His truthfulness and honesty were so famous that people called him Amin and Sadiq.
The local Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami said that in the darkness of ignorance, where only 17 people were literate, he created such an educational awareness that the world's first residential university, Suffah, was established. The Prophet (peace be upon him) was exceptionally interested in advanced sciences and arts, including medical science.
Whenever someone mentioned a problem, he would suggest some remedy, and even today, 15-20 old books on the topic of Tibb-e-Nabawi can be found in the world's libraries. 1400 years ago, he presented the concept of a four-lane road in Medina, where two camels could pass and two could come.
He created the world's first written constitution, consisting of 47 points, to run a country. In short, he gave humans a complete code of life.
Maulana Islahi addressed the medical students, saying that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) liked skilled doctors. If a person who is not aware of medical science treats someone, he can be punished, as mentioned in the books of Seerat.
Therefore, medical students should acquire expertise in their field.
Professor Dr. Parmod Kumar of the Hindi department at Bhim Rao Ambedkar University also spoke on the occasion, saying that no religion teaches hatred, but rather love, brotherhood, and compassion. Every religion teaches us to think more about others than ourselves.
He referred to different religions and said that humanity is the first purpose of life. He introduced the audience to valuable quotes from the Guru Granth Sahib, the Bible, and the Quran.
The program began with the valuable words of patron Dr. A.A. Hai, who said that PMCH has been organizing this tradition for years, and Alhamdulillah, we are happy to organize the 71st Seerat-un-Nabi conference today.
PMCH is famous for physical treatment, but once a year, it also gets an opportunity for spiritual treatment. He also recited verses from the Quran and Hadith related to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
