Patna, 7 February (ABN). Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has announced a comprehensive initiative to strengthen the dairy industry in the state under the third resolution of "Saatchi Nishchay-3, Agriculture Development - Prosperity in the State". Under this initiative, it has been decided to set up milk production committees in every village of the state to ensure that livestock farmers get a fair price for their milk and their income increases.

Out of the state's total 39,073 villages, 25,593 villages have already set up dairy production committees. The Department of Fisheries and Resources has been directed to form committees in the remaining villages within the next two years. The government believes that this move will not only increase the income of livestock farmers but also significantly increase milk production and availability in the state.

In this regard, under "Saatchi Nishchay-2", Sudha milk shops have been established in all blocks of the state. Now, under "Saatchi Nishchay-3", it has been decided to open Sudha milk shops in all panchayats as well. Currently, Sudha outlets are operating in 100 out of the state's 8,053 panchayats. The remaining 7,953 panchayats have been directed to establish Sudha milk shops by the end of the 2026-27 financial year.

The government has also decided that the new Sudha milk shops opened in panchayats will be given on a priority basis to Jeevika didis who are benefiting from the Chief Minister's Women Employment Scheme. This will not only promote women's entrepreneurship in rural areas but also create self-employment opportunities.

The Chief Minister said that expanding the dairy business will create new employment opportunities in rural areas and increase people's income. Additionally, ensuring the availability of milk and dairy products will strengthen the rural economy and bring prosperity to the lives of the state's people.
