Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Thursday that the campaign to free India from infiltrators will begin from Seemanchal region of Bihar. Addressing a public rally after several key meetings on the issue of infiltration in the Seemanchal area, Amit Shah said that a special campaign will be launched to identify and deport alleged illegal infiltrators from India-Nepal border areas in Bihar's Seemanchal. He said the central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi will fulfill its promise to make Bihar free from infiltrators. Union Home Minister Amit Shah clarified that the campaign will not be limited to just deleting names from the voter list but will also involve the process of "removing every infiltrator from Indian soil". He said that removing infiltrators from the country is not just an election promise but a firm resolve of the central government and this campaign will start soon from Seemanchal. He alleged that infiltrators not only affect elections but also influence the distribution of welfare schemes for the underprivileged and employment of youths. According to him, the illegal stay of foreign nationals in the country is a major challenge for national security. The Home Minister said that during his three-day visit, a comprehensive strategy is being prepared through detailed meetings with officials of concerned central ministries, Bihar Home Department, District Magistrates, Police Superintendents, and other security agencies to deal with the issue. Under the proposed strategy, infiltrations will be removed on a priority basis within a 10-kilometer radius of the border in the Seemanchal region. Notably, Amit Shah is on a three-day visit to the districts of Kishanganj, Purnia, and Katihar, which are connected to the Bangladesh-Nepal border. During this time, he held review meetings with the administration and security agencies on matters related to the alleged demographic change in the population. The meetings were also attended by Union Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai and Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Sushant Choudhary. During the visit, Amit Shah will also participate in the inauguration of border outposts, the e-inauguration and foundation stone laying ceremonies of 'Vibrant Villages Program-2' and various projects of the SSB. The Home Minister said that Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, and Assam are the most vulnerable to demographic imbalance. He said the central government led by Narendra Modi is committed to maintaining demographic balance and necessary steps are being taken in this direction. At the beginning of his address, Amit Shah paid tribute to freedom fighter and ideologue of Hindutva, Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, on his death anniversary. He said that the 1857 revolt was widely recognized as India's first freedom struggle when Savarkar wrote a book on the subject and established it.
