Serving humanity is a great worship, philanthropists participate in its Rukhi: Nazim Emirate Sharaiya
Patna: The intensity of the cold has increased, and a large number of people who live in slums, earn their living by pulling rickshaws and carrying loads, and reside on the banks of canals and roads, are facing difficulties not only in Patna but also in other cities and villages of Bihar, Odisha, Jharkhand, and West Bengal. These individuals lack proper shelter and warm clothing, making their situation even more dire. It is the moral and religious duty of those who have been blessed with a comfortable life to contribute to the relief efforts for these underprivileged people and provide them with blankets and warm clothing according to their means. Serving humanity is indeed a great act of worship. On the Day of Judgment, Allah will ask his servants why they did not help him when he was in distress. The servant will respond by saying, "How could you, Oh Lord, be in distress when you are the one who alleviates difficulties?" Allah will then say, "My servant was in distress, and if you had helped him, you would have found me with him."
These remarks were made by Maulana Mufti Muhammad Saeedur Rehman Qasmi, the administrator of the Imarat-e-Sharia, while distributing blankets among a large gathering of rickshaw pullers, load carriers, and the poor and needy at the central office of the Imarat-e-Sharia on December 19, 2025. He stated that every year, the Imarat-e-Sharia distributes blankets and warm clothing to the needy in various regions of Patna, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, and Bengal, without any discrimination based on religion or caste. This year, under the guidance of Hazrat Amir-e-Sharia Maulana Ahmadullah Faisal Rahmani, the Imarat-e-Sharia, in collaboration with the Crescent Educational and Welfare Trust of Murshidabad, West Bengal, distributed blankets and warm clothing among the needy in Patna. However, considering the large number of people in need, this effort is insufficient.
There is a need for philanthropists to contribute to this noble cause by utilizing their zakat, sadaqat, and donations to provide relief to the underprivileged in their respective areas. Those who can provide service on their own should distribute warm clothing and blankets to the deserving individuals. The administrator has also appealed to the qazis of the subordinate Darul Qaza and the officials of the Imarat-e-Sharia organizations to arrange for the distribution of blankets and warm clothing in their respective areas and participate in this relief effort with the support of philanthropists.
Individuals who wish to contribute to this cause through the Imarat-e-Sharia can send funds to the following account or QR code for the Relief Fund of the Imarat-e-Sharia.
Prominent figures present at the blanket distribution ceremony at the central office included Sabihul Islam, secretary of the Crescent Educational and Welfare Trust of Murshidabad, West Bengal; Anwar Jamal, a social worker from Pataliputra Colony; Maulana Muhammad Abul Kalam Shamsi, deputy administrator of the Imarat-e-Sharia and principal of the Imarat Public School; Maulana Arshad Rehmani, office secretary of the Imarat-e-Sharia; Maulana Muhammad Minhajul Alam Nadvi, office in-charge of project management; Maulana Muhammad Sharique Rehmani, office in-charge; Maulana Muhammad Sabir Qasmi, in-charge of the library; Maulana Muhammad Mujahidul Islam Qasmi, deputy in-charge of the library; and Maulana Muhammad Tariq Rehmani, among others.
