Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said on Saturday that the police have a very important role to play in maintaining law and order in society.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar attended the passing-out parade ceremony of trainee police sub-inspectors at the Bihar Police Academy, Rajgir in Nalanda district today. The Chief Minister inspected the passing-out parade by riding an open jeep and took a salute, also encouraging the trainee police sub-inspectors.
Mr. Kumar said that the police have a key role to play in maintaining law and order in society. Addressing the trainee police sub-inspectors, he said that all of them have undergone training in an excellent manner. He expressed confidence that all of them would discharge their duties with full dedication, honesty, sensitivity, and discipline.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar awarded prizes to trainee police sub-inspectors who excelled during the training. On the occasion, Ankit Kumar was awarded the Best Probationer Overall, Rupesh Kumar as the Best Probationer Outdoor, Ankit Kumar as the Best Probationer Indoor, and Mazsmeena Kumari as the Best Probationer Parade Commander.
During the passing-out parade program, the trainee police sub-inspectors were administered the oath. During the program, the Director of Bihar Police Academy, Rajgir, Ms. R. Malar Viji, presented a memento to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and welcomed him.
Before the passing-out parade program, the Chief Minister inspected the Bihar Police Academy. During this, the officers informed the Chief Minister that the state government has approved the acquisition of an additional 22 acres of land adjacent to the academy campus for the expansion of the academy. The process of acquiring this land is being carried out by the district administration of Nalanda. A new administrative building, parade ground, residential facilities for officers, and other facilities will be constructed on this additional land.
It is noteworthy that the basic training of 1218 police sub-inspectors of the 2023 batch has been completed today, including 436 women. In addition, three trans-gender police sub-inspectors who were appointed for the first time have also been trained. After the training, all these police sub-inspectors will be posted in different districts.
The establishment of the Bihar Police Academy was initiated in 2008 under the direction of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, for which 133 acres of land were provided in Rajgir. The Chief Minister inaugurated the campus of this academy on December 3, 2018.
