Makar Sankranti reflects the spirit of Indian culture: Arif Muhammad Khan

Awaz E Bihar•14 January 2026 at 07:00 pm•1 views•1 min read

Patna (Staff Reporter) The Makar Sankranti festival was organized at the Bihar Lok Bhavan. On this occasion, while addressing the ceremony, Governor Arif Muhammad Khan said that Makar Sankranti is a unique festival and reflects the spirit of Indian culture. He said that Makar Sankranti celebrates the change that occurs gradually and in a very natural and peaceful manner. On this day, the sun moves from the south to the north. This festival is celebrated only in India. The Governor said that change is inevitable and unstoppable, but only the change that comes slowly is permanent and sustainable. Many revolutions have taken place around the world, but their impact has ended within 10, 20 or 50 years. In Indian culture, instead of revolution, there is the concept of Sankranti, where gradual change occurs and has a lasting impact. On this occasion, children from 'Kalkari' presented a cultural program. MLA and renowned folk singer Mithali Thakur also performed. On this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha, Chairman of the Bihar Legislative Council, Awadhesh Narayan Singh, were present.
