Nitis' farsighted policies will give Dubai's spring products global recognition: Anjum Ara

Awaz E Bihar•3 January 2026 at 07:12 pm•1 views•2 min read

Patna, 3 January (ABN) Janata Dal United (JDU) state spokesperson Anjum Aara said on Saturday that due to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's farsighted policies, Bihar's GI-tagged products will be showcased with their unique identity and high quality at the Gulf Food Festival to be held in Dubai.
Ms. Aara issued a statement today, saying that due to the efforts of Chief Minister Mr. Kumar, Bihar's prosperous agricultural production, traditional food products, and cultural heritage are now getting a new recognition at the global level. This is a historic opportunity for Bihar's farmers, artisans, and traditional industrialists.
The JDU spokesperson stated that the international food festival will feature Silao's Khaja, Mithila's Makhana, Bhagalpur's Katarni rice, and Maricha Dhan. Notably, among sweets, only Silao's Khaja from Bihar has received the GI tag, which is why it has been specially selected. This indicates that Bihar's traditional products are now meeting global standards and identity.
Ms. Aara said that the purpose of the program, organized in collaboration with the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority, is to promote the export of GI-tagged products and strengthen their demand in the international market. This will not only provide new markets for Bihar's products but also directly benefit the state's farmers, artisans, and small producers.
The JDU spokesperson said that this initiative is an important step towards consolidating Bihar's cultural identity at the global level. Products like Shahi Lichi, Zardalu Aam, Katarni, Maricha rice, Mithila Makhana, Silao's Khaja, Magahi Paan, Bhagalpur Silk, Madhubani Painting, Sujni embroidery, Sikki, and Manjusha art, as well as Khathwa art, have already become Bihar's unique identity. These products have not only increased market value but also given traditional skills dignity and sustainability.
The JDU leader said that in the state, with the joint efforts of Chief Minister Mr. Kumar's government and the central government, Bihar's products are being consistently taken to new heights on the global platform. This success is a strong step towards a self-sufficient future for Bihar, where farmers and artisans will move towards prosperity as part of the global market.
