Awaz E Bihar•28 January 2026 at 06:41 pm•0 views•7 min read

Patna, January 28: (ABN) Chief Minister Nitish Kumar participated in the Jan Samvad program held at Nagendra Jha Stadium in Darbhanga district today. Addressing the Jan Samvad program, he said that you all know that on November 24, 2005, the NDA government was formed in Bihar for the first time, since then the rule of law has been established in the state and we have been continuously working on development. Do you remember what the situation was like before? People did not come out of their homes after evening. There was a lot of conflict in society, how much conflict used to happen between Hindus and Muslims? What was the condition of education? Very few children used to study. Very little education used to take place. There was no complete arrangement for treatment earlier. There were very few roads and the condition of the ones that existed was bad. Power supply was available in very few places. We have been working on Bihar's development work since the beginning. Now there is no environment of fear and terror of any kind. There is an atmosphere of love, brotherhood, and peace in the state. Hindu-Muslim conflict does not happen, for which, since 2006, the fencing of graveyards has been started. Earlier, about 8 thousand graveyards were fenced, later some more graveyards were identified which are being fenced. After 2016, the fencing of more than 60-year-old Hindu temples has been done. Now, development is taking place in all sectors.

The Chief Minister said that since the beginning, special attention has been given to the fields of education and health. A large number of roads and bridges have been constructed in the state. In 2015, under the Seven Resolves, work on taking electricity to every house, providing drinking water to every house, constructing toilets in every house, and connecting tolls with paved roads was completed. In 2018, electricity was taken to every house. The government has been providing electricity at a very low rate since the beginning, now almost all domestic consumers are being given free electricity. A lot of work has been done on all the projects under the Seven Resolves-2 in 2020, and the remaining work will be completed soon. Under the Seven Resolves-2, it has been decided to provide 10 lakh jobs and 10 lakh employment opportunities to the youth. So far, 10 lakh youth have been given government jobs and 40 lakh have been given employment, a total of 50 lakh youth have been provided with jobs and employment. The target is to provide jobs and employment to 1 crore youth in the next five years.

The government has been supporting the development of all sections of society since its inception. Work has been done for everyone, whether Hindu, Muslim, upper caste, backward, extremely backward, Dalit, or Mahadalit. The pension amount for all elderly, disabled, and widows has been increased from Rs 400 to Rs 1100, benefiting 1 crore 14 lakh people. In the budget of July 2024, an announcement was made to provide a large amount of money to Bihar in the form of special financial assistance for roads, industry, health, tourism, and flood control. In the budget of February 2025, the establishment of the Makhana Board, airport, and financial assistance for the Western Kosi canal, etc. has been announced. In 2018, the Khelo India Youth Games were organized in some states of the country, in 2025, the Khelo India Youth Games were organized in Bihar, which is a matter of pride. We salute Mr. Narendra Modi for all this. Mr. Narendra Modi has come to Bihar many times and has laid the foundation stone and inaugurated development works.
