Patna, 9 January: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Sanjay Saravagi stated that after a special CBI court in Delhi framed charges against Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) President and former Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav and his family in the 'land for job scam', the list of crimes of the Lalu Yadav family is growing longer by the day.
In his statement, Mr. Saravagi said that the law has long hands. In the country, the law is supreme, and those who have indulged in corruption are facing the law. He said that in cases of corruption and scams, the court will frame charges and deliver a verdict according to established laws.
The BJP state president said that in the land-for-job case, the court has also acknowledged that the crime was committed under a large-scale criminal conspiracy. He said that during the 15-year 'jungle raj' in Bihar, several major scams took place, resulting in the Lalu family benefiting by thousands of crores of rupees, and Bihar fell further behind in terms of development. He said that these scams brought significant disrepute to Bihar.
As the Railway Minister, Lalu Yadav committed scams at the national level, and in Bihar, they also carried out several scams. Mr. Saravagi said that the court has also acknowledged that Lalu Yadav's entire family runs a political-criminal syndicate. He alleged that the family used politics as a means to amass wealth and looted the state treasury to build their assets. He said that in the previous elections, the people of Bihar sent a clear message that the corrupt party and family that established 'jungle raj' would no longer be tolerated.
He said that this is not the first instance; previously, Lalu Yadav has also been convicted in the fodder scam.
