Awaz E Bihar•11 March 2026 at 07:39 pm•35 views•8 min read

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar attended the Jan Samvad program held at the Agriculture Field near Grid Sub Power Station, Chiraiya, in the Thakurganj block of Kishanganj district. Addressing the Jan Samvad program, the Chief Minister said, "You are all present here in large numbers in this program. I welcome all of you. You all know that on November 24, 2005, the NDA government was formed in Bihar for the first time, since then the rule of law has been established in the state and we are continuously doing development work. What was the condition of Bihar before 2005? It was very bad. People did not come out of their homes after evening. How much conflict was there in the society? What was the condition of education? Very few children used to study. Education was very less. Even the arrangement of treatment was not complete. There were very few roads and the ones that existed were in bad condition. Electricity supply was available in very few places. Now there is no atmosphere of fear and terror of any kind. There is an atmosphere of love, brotherhood, and peace in the state. First of all, special attention was given to the education sector. We restored contract teachers, opened a large number of new schools, and implemented the cycle and uniform scheme for students studying in government schools. Since 2023, 2 lakh 58 thousand government teachers have been restored by the Bihar Public Service Commission. From 2006 to 2023, 3 lakh 68 thousand contract teachers were restored, out of which 28 thousand 976 have become government teachers through the Bihar Public Service Commission. After that, the government decided that contract teachers do not need to take the BPSC exam, they will be made government teachers by taking a simple exam. It was decided to give them five opportunities for this. So far, four exams have been conducted, and 2 lakh 66 thousand contract teachers have passed. Now only 73 thousand are left, who will be given one more opportunity. The total number of government teachers has now become 5 lakh 24 thousand. Apart from this, the BPSC has also started the process of recruiting 45 thousand new posts. The Chief Minister said that to make up for the shortcomings in the development work, during the Pragati Yatra in December 2024 and January-February 2025, we visited all the districts and saw the development work and to make up for the shortcomings, 430 new schemes have been approved. Work has started on these schemes in all districts. So far, 21 schemes have been completed, and all the remaining work will be completed soon. Bihar is getting full cooperation from the central government in its development. In the budget of July 2024, it was announced to give a large amount to Bihar in the form of special financial assistance for roads, industry, health, tourism, and flood control. In the budget of February 2025, it was announced to provide financial assistance for the establishment of a Mukhyamantri Board, the establishment of an airport, and the Western Kosi Canal in Bihar. In 2018, the Khelo India Youth Games were organized in some states of the country, in 2025, the Khelo India Youth Games were organized in Bihar, which is a matter of pride. We salute Prime Minister Narendra Modi for all this. The Prime Minister has come to Bihar many times and has laid the foundation stone and inaugurated development works. It used to take a lot of time to come from Patna to Kishanganj because the roads were in bad condition. Reaching Patna from Kishanganj was a difficult task. The power situation was alarming.
