North Bihar, particularly Darbhanga, is a significant hub for Urdu language and literature: Professor Mushataq Darbhanga, December 22. It is an undeniable fact that in the present era, Bihar is one of the states in the country where not only is the environment conducive to the development of the Urdu language, but literature is also flourishing, and a large treasure of standard creations is being accumulated in both poetic and prose genres. These views were expressed by Professor Aftab Ahmed Aafaqi, a renowned Urdu researcher and critic, and Chairman of the Urdu Department at Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. Professor Aafaqi was addressing a reception ceremony at C.M. College, a historic institution of higher education in North Bihar, Darbhanga. He said that the state of Bihar has been a cradle of Urdu language and literature since ancient times, and in changing circumstances, when Urdu language education is being closed in other states of North India, Bihar is a state where there is a stable system of education in schools and colleges, and the writers and poets here are presenting standard creations, which are accumulating a large treasure of both poetry and prose, which will become a subject of research and criticism in the future. It is worth mentioning that Professor Aafaqi had come to L.N. Mithila University, Darbhanga, to attend to some official work, after which a reception ceremony was organized in his honor at the local C.M. College, where he expressed his gratitude to the college family for the honor and appreciated the educational activities here. On this occasion, Professor Mushataq Ahmed, Principal of the college, welcomed him with a 'paag', 'chadar', and a bouquet, in accordance with the cultural tradition of the Mithila region. Professor Mushataq Ahmed, while introducing Professor Aafaqi, said that in the present era, Professor Aftab Ahmed Aafaqi is one of the few renowned Urdu researchers and critics, and his dozens of books have a reference status. Professor Ahmed said that since ancient times, Darbhanga has been an important center of Urdu language and literature and has its own identity as a part of the Dabistan-e-Azamabad. Even now, in terms of educational and literary activities, this is an important center of the state of Bihar, and there is a good number of creators of literature who are presenting serious prose and poetic creations. On this occasion, Professor Aftab Ashraf said that Professor Aftab Ahmed Aafaqi is a guiding light for the new generation, as he is presenting high-quality creations in both criticism and research, and prioritizing the mental development of the new generation. The reception ceremony was attended by all the teachers and employees of the college, as well as students.
