Patna, December 27 (ABN) Bihar Agriculture Minister Ram Krishna Yadav said on Saturday that strict action is being taken against those involved in black marketing, hoarding, and selling fertilizers at higher than fixed prices under a zero-tolerance policy. Mr. Yadav said today that the state government will not tolerate any compromise with the farmer's hard work, sweat, and crops. He said that providing fertilizers to farmers on time, in sufficient quantity, and at fixed prices is the top priority of the state government during the Rabi season 2025-26. To achieve this goal, strict action is being taken against those involved in black marketing, hoarding, and selling fertilizers at higher prices under a zero-tolerance policy. Agriculture Minister Ram Krishna Yadav said that if the farmer remains carefree in the field, only then will the state's agriculture become strong. With this thought, 24-hour surveillance is being kept on the fertilizer availability, storage, and distribution system. He said that the administrative system has been fully activated from the state level to the district and block level, so that there is no scope for negligence or irregularity at any level. He informed that on December 27, 2025 (Saturday), under the 'Zero Office Day', all officers of the Agriculture Department will visit their respective areas to conduct in-depth inspections, ground verification, and on-the-spot inspection of fertilizer distribution systems. The message is clear that now the work will not be done in files but in the fields. This system will be enforced every week. Mr. Yadav said that flying squad teams formed at the headquarters level are conducting sudden inspections in the districts. Immediate raids are being conducted and strict action is being taken as soon as complaints are received. Anyone who tries to cheat the farmer will not be spared by the law. He said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, the Bihar government is fully committed to the welfare of farmers. The commitment to self-sufficient agriculture, transparent system, and increasing farmers' income is being enforced on the ground by ensuring timely fertilizer supply. The Agriculture Minister said that there is no shortage of fertilizers in any district of the state. He said that continuous supply of fertilizers is being ensured according to the needs of the farmers, so that farmers do not have to face queues, rumors, or black marketing. He said that the government has taken strict action against those who violate the law. He directed the officers of the Agriculture Department to hold immediate meetings of the district and block-level fertilizer monitoring committees where they have not been held so far. Block-wise sub-allocation of fertilizers should be done based on the actual requirement of farmers and the area under cultivation. Regular reconciliation of the stock registered in the POS machine and the ground stock should be ensured. Mr. Yadav said that fertilizer smuggling in districts bordering international borders will not be tolerated at any cost. Special raid teams are being formed in such districts to keep strict vigilance in coordination with the SSB. He said that whoever tries to snatch the rights of farmers, no matter how influential, will not be spared. The government is standing with the farmers with full force.
